My Go-To Makeup Favs for Combination Skin!

For me, my makeup needs to last all day- if I put it on, it better stay, because I REFUSE to reapply! And being a girl with combination skin and living in this southern heat, I need it oil, sweat and muggy proof!

This is where my top makeup products come into play, to give me a medium to full coverage canvas that will last <3 So I will start with base to finish*

my holy grail!!! Controls oil, full coverage, lasts all day, matte! Love this stuff- and you only need a little. My usual color is 1C1 cool bone with rosy undertones.

My Application Tips:

My second favorite is Hourglass Seamless Foundation. My shade is Vanilla (a light, cool undertone).

What I like about this foundation is that it controls oil without looking too matte. It also blends really well, where all I need is one tiny pump to achieve the look I want.

Application Tip:

  • A little goes a long way! when I say small pump I mean it, you don’t have to use a lot of makeup to achieve the look you are going for! Natural is key and less is more
  • The shades are bit darker, so I would go up a lighter shade if you are unsure! I would say a primer would work well with this, as it doesn’t cover pores as good, but I still love it!

After foundation is concealer- and I only have one I will show you, because it is LITERALLY all I use. Can you guess it?!

A favorite for many, and I know why. This covers and blends like a dream. My color is fair beige. I always have this on hand and apply to areas over foundation like under eyes, cupid’s bow, bridge of nose, etc.

Application Tips:

  • Always go lighter to make under eyes appear brighter
  • Apply with beauty blender and let dry down a few minutes before applying powders

Next up, finishing it off. As an oily girl, I want all of the protection I can get, and this is where powders come into play. With just a small pump of foundation and a little concealer, powder helps set/smooth the canvas and keep oil at bay.

These two powders set the makeup off. I like to use the mineral powder in the color tender rose to blend out foundation and make sure my color is even, then add the translucent powder! You don’t have to use the mineral of course, but it does help the foundation look more even to me!

Application Tip:

  • Choose the right brush! My go to are powder brushes from It Cosmetics
  • You can also apply by adding some to a beauty blender and patting on oily areas, then brush away after a few minutes.

Last but not least is setting spray, and this one is my fav! It helps keep oil in check and your makeup in place (no separation). I swear by this, and it doesn’t irritate or break me out. I used for my wedding and it lasted all evening, In June!

And that is my top makeup/everyday products for combo skin. Hope you guys enjoyed! I will plan on doing some tutorials and sharing other makeup products very soon <3
